JEFF TRAVIS

Partner/Co-founder of OutWest Adventures, Jeff Travis was born and raised on the plains of Southeast Colorado. It was here that he discovered his passion for hunting at an early age. Jeff would tag along as his father guided waterfowl hunts, all the while learning the business of guiding as well as hunting. Jeff’s first guided hunt came during the annual fundraiser, Southeast Colorado Two Shot Goose Hunt in 1989. Though he was not yet old enough to drive, he was able to guide his team and win the tournament that year.

After graduating from Lamar High School, Jeff attended Lamar Community College, taking business courses while continuing to guide hunters for various outfitters and worked for the local Ford dealership. Jeff worked his way up at the dealership, from delivering parts in 1993 to now CO-owner of Tri County Ford Lincoln, Tri County GM, and Tri County Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, all located in Southeast Colorado.

Jeff first met Anthony Cesario while guiding Anthony’s team for the annual Two Shot Goose Hunt. It didn’t take long for them to start up a friendship hunting geese, deer, and elk. After a few years of hunting together, Jeff and Anthony decided to make a business out of their passion and started OutWest Adventures. For the last 15 years OutWest Adventures has operated all over Colorado, providing quality deer, elk, turkey, and waterfowl hunts.

Tragically, Anthony Cesario passed away in 2010 while elk hunting on one of OutWest’s premier leases. After losing his good friend and business partner, Jeff scaled the operation back to Southeast Colorado where he could continue providing quality, personalized hunts – the type of hunts they both envisioned when they started the company.

Jeff resides at the OutWest Adventures Headquarters in Wiley, CO with his family. Jeff’s boy’s, Tristen and Trey, are following in their dad’s footsteps, helping guide hunters.

Patrick Goodpaster

Owner/Operator Patrick Goodpaster was born in Southern California, where he grew up salt-water fishing and upland bird hunting with his father, Patrick Goodpaster, Sr.

Patrick moved to Colorado when he received a football scholarship to Colorado State University. At CSU, Patrick became an accomplished football player, starting 4 years for the Rams and briefly playing for the Baltimore Ravens. While in college, Patrick became friends with former CSU and retired NFL player, Anthony Cersario, who, at the time, co-owned Outwest Adventures with Jeff Travis. Anthony introduced Patrick to big game and waterfowl hunting, which quickly became an obsession. Patrick and his former teammate and current Outwest Adventure partner, Erik Pears, have been hunting ever since.

When Jeff presented Patrick and Erik with the opportunity to join Outwest Adventures, neither hesitated. After all, Outwest Adventures had introduced them to hunting. Patrick shot his first goose, pronghorn, turkey, elk, and deer with Outwest, as well as his biggest Mule deer – a 209-inch stud – with Jeff in 2016. Patrick is honored to be part of something that has given him so many memories, and enjoys creating new memories with and for his clients.

Patrick’s passion is Mule Deer and hunts deer annually in several states. He has also hunted multiple countries and currently has a half sheep slam and three of the dangerous five of Africa.

Patrick currently protects and serves the Los Angeles community as a Homicide Detective. He is married to his beautiful wife, Celina, and is father to two young children, Samantha and Bo.

Erik Pears

Born in Utah and raised in Colorado, Erik Has always had a love for the outdoors. while he didn’t begin hunting until he arrived at Colorado state university learning alongside his friends Patrick Goodpaster and Joel Dreessen, it quickly became a passion. An 11 year NFL career, that took him from Denver to Oakland buffalo and San Francisco, got in the way of pursuing consistent big game but water fowl and upland birds always found their way into a busy schedule. Now that Erik is retired, his full-time occupation is now Outwest Adventures and cattle. Erik loves to sit in the blind or glass up mature animals and be around good people, whether it’s talking football or the outdoors.

Erik and his beautiful wife Ashlee have four amazing kids in Lukas, Makenzie Levi and Sydnie. He and his family reside in Larkspur Colorado.
